  1. Hi I am a new mom. My son Bodhi is 14 mos. I wanted to say hi and to thank you for this site. I too am very connected to God and I love being at home with my son. But I can see how i have been putting myself in a box of limitation too. I want to be with my son all the time but miss my time and expressing my passions ( dancing and yoga) as well as my spiritual teaching and healing career. Yet I am not sure how to find the balance.

Thank you for having the courage to speak out. It is so nice to know I am not alone.

I found you through heather madder site.

    God bless you.

    • Thank you so much for writing, Rachel! I am glad to connect with you – you are definitely not alone! I struggle with the balance issue so often. Hang in there, it might not feel ‘balanced’ but you will find moments of possibility if you are looking for them, ways to connect with your passions and feed your spirit, and still be there for your son. I heard a wonderful analogy from Leslie Householder once that likened balance to walking – if we were always perfectly balanced with the same amount of weight on both feet always, we would never move forward. We go a little out of balance on one foot, and a little out of balance on the other, in order to walk forward. It will swing one way and then the other, and that’s ok, we just keep trying to move toward the things that matter most, and take care of ourselves and our children, always reaching toward God and inspiration to help us know the best way to achieve our desires for good. That idea helped me a lot. I don’t think any of us are ever perfectly balanced but if we are doing the right thing at the right time and following our inner guidance we’re on the right track.
